Review: FAIR SQUARED Shaving Oil.

Last week I was lucky enough to be gifted the Apricot Shaving Oil from FAIR SQUARED.

FAIR SQUARED are a really interesting company as they’re one of the first cosmetic producers who have permission to label their products with the Fair Trade seal! There are a lot of companies who are cruelty free but I’ve not come across any other Fair Trade certified brands yet. I was intrigued.

According to FAIR SQUARED they are an alternative trade organisation who have fair dealings with producers from the world’s poorest countries. They offer high quality alternatives to conventionally produced products. As well as being Fair Trade certified their products are also approved by NATRUE and the Vegan Society.

I’ve never used any type of Shaving Oil before so I was really looking forward to trying it. When it arrived I was a little surprised to notice that it was “intimate” Shaving Oil. I was initially panicked. How am I going to review intimate shaving oil? Will I have to take pictures? No one wants to see that…

Needless to say I did not take any pictures so you’ll have to take my word about how great this product is!

The Apricot Shaving Oil is designed to maintain natural pH values and contains no paraffins or parabens that might irritate skin. It also smells great with its combination of Apricot, Olive, Argon and Almond oil from around the world.

It’s really easy to use. You simply massage 2-3 drops of the oil into the area you want to shave, then shave without water. I tried this on both my bikini line and under my arms. I can happily announce that I won’t be going back to shaving either in the shower again. I’m a complete convert to shaving oil. My underarms quite often feel scratchy and raw after a normal shave but I didn’t experience any discomfort using the oil. The razor just glided over my skin. There were no tell-tale razor bumps either which is a big plus for me.

FAIR SQUARED Shaving Oil has made me realise that shaving doesn’t have to be an unpleasant experience and you can feel good about supporting such an ethical company at the same time. Its a win win from me.
