Review: Venosure Baby Changing Mat.

Changing mats are a must have for any parent. New-born babies need changed anywhere between 8 and 12 times a day, and most children go on to use nappies for over 2 years so it’s important to have a decent changing mat as you’re going to spend a lot of time with it.

Before Tiny was born I bought two changing mats so we could have a changing station in the living room and one upstairs. This turned out to be to be a genius idea as I had an emergency C-section, and it was a relief not to have to carry Tiny upstairs every time she needed changed…which was a lot.

As I was buying two mats I didn’t want to spend too much money and unsurprisingly neither of the mats I bought lasted very well. They both came apart at the ends and Tiny started picking out the foam. Not very hygienic.

Luckily, just as our mat was on its last legs I was gifted one of a new range of changing mats from Venosure – a British brand founded in 2014 making a range of contemporary baby changing mats, nursery items and maternity accessories. Venosure’s products are made in the UK, and feature fun, contemporary designs.

Venosure offer a lovely range of changing mats in lots of different styles so there is something to suit all tastes and nurseries. I opted for the I Love You to the Moon and Back mat. I thought the design was really pretty, and gender neutral.

I’ve been using our new mat for two weeks now and I’m really pleased with it. It’s lightweight, but a great size (70cm x 45cm) so Tiny still fits perfectly on it even though she’s a toddler now. With changing mats size really does matter, and the Venosure mats are slightly bigger than many brands which is important as your baby grows. The mats also have raised sides for a more comfortable change.

As well as looking great it feels really sturdy and high quality. All Venosure mats have a wipe clean PVC surface so they’re really easy to clean. They are also non allergenic.

If you’re pregnant, or just looking for a new changing mat I’d definitely recommend checking out Venosure’s range for something that’s stylish, affordable and good quality.

*I was gifted the changing mat in exchange for a review. All reviews are my honest opinion.
