What fresh hell is this?
Surely this is taking the whole eco-friendly thing too far?
That’s what my friends think anyway.
I love it. I am a convert. Goodbye conditioner. Hello an old Coke bottle filled with apple cider vinegar (ACV) and water.
I first heard about ACV when looking for advice about how to transition to shampoo bars as it’s supposed to help remove shampoo build up from your hair. ACV is also supposedly good for restoring the natural pH balance of your hair, hydrating your scalp, reducing dandruff and adding shine. I don’t know much about the pH balance of my hair but for me, and my curls it works just as well as conditioner and I won’t be switching back any time soon.
A bottle of ACV costs around a pound, you can buy it in glass bottles and it should last as long, if not longer than a regular bottle of conditioner.
I use 1 part ACV to 2 parts water. I poked some holes in a Coke bottle and use it like conditioner whenever I wash my hair. My husband and friends assure me that they can’t really smell it…when I’ve forced them to sniff my hair!
What do you think? Is this a bridge too far for you?
